Anzac Apple Tart


Shortcrust pastry:
1 cup (125 gm) flour
75 gm chilled butter cut in cubes
1 egg yolk
1 tablespoon chilled water

1 1/4 c rolled oats (125 gm)
1/2 sugar
1/2 c flour
100 gm melted butter
3 large apples

Preheat oven to 180°C.
Mix dough ingredients & leave in fridge to chill for 30 minutes.
Bring out of fridge & roll out in 26cm tart mould,make some holes in the dough & enter oven for 15 minutes.

Prepare the apples:
peel skin & cut apples into cubes, put in pan with some butter & sugar & cinnamon & stir for 5 minutes.
Add the apple mixture over the dough.

Combine oats, flour , sugar & butter & mix well then add over the apple mixture & smooth out with the back of the spoon.
enter oven for 30 minutes till golden brown & enjoy the wonderful taste.
